A Long Dry Spell

I have been doing open mics and acoustic jams the past few months with no potential gigs appearing anywhere. I must admit that taking a full-time job has cramped my musical endeavors and ambitions somewhat. I ain’t as young as I used to be and there are only so many hours in a week after you devote 50+ hours of it to your job.

But there is a cool little restaurant down on Beach Street next to the Halifax River and the International Speedway Boulevard bridge called “The Mediterranean Experience”. They have an unusual space that really comprises a couple of discrete venues. One, at street level is used several evenings a week for open mics. Upstairs is an indoor/outdoor space overlooking Beach Street and the river.

With a few open mic performances downstairs under my belt and a good word from my friend, Mike Whinnery, to the owner, I have been allowed the opportunity to perform on Thursday evenings between 7:00 and 10:00 PM.

I’m looking forward to the chance to perform and refine my craft entertaining the dinner guests there. I am hopeful that it will lead to greater things in the future.

I hope some of my friends and fans will drop by and enjoy their excellent menu of Mediterranean cuisine.

Onward!
